LegalSuite recently launched a new Cancellations and Consents module. This module allows users to draw Consents to  Cancellation, as well as produce various other Consents and Applications such as Consent to Substitution of Debtor, Consent to  Release, Application in terms of Section4(1)(b), and so on. It is a very comprehensive module which was developed largely by Michele  Holland who has had a lot of practical experience working as a conveyancing secretary over the past few years.

LegalSuite Error Reporting (V4.1574(1454))or higher

An error reporting system has been implemented into the above version. The update to this version may take slightly longer  than ususal as we have to increase the size of one of the files to accomodate the error reporting.

While you are working in LegalSuite, if the following window appears on your screen, please click on the Email Report button:-

An email message will be generated to support@legalsuite.co.za with the details of the error. Click on Send(it is not necesary  for you to add anything into the message).

LegalSuite will automatically close and reopen.

Requirements for LegalSuite to work Effectively

From time to time you may find that your LegalSuite is running a little slow or you have troubles when trying to merge  documents. Most of the time we find that these problems are caused by insufficient memory or other hardware requirements.  Below are some of the basic requirements that can be checked so that you can prevent these problems from occuring.

 Per User Workstation:

  - 512MB RAM (1GB is ideal)
  - Screen Resolution should be set to 1024 x768.
  - Full Microsoft Outlook - Unfortunately Outlook Express is not compatible.

  LegalSuite Server Machine:*

  - 2GB RAM
  - Intel Core Duo CPU
  - Internet Connection
  - Windows XP Professional
  - SQL Server 2005 Express - Full blown SQL Server is recommended.
  - Microsoft Office 2003

*Please note the above requirements are based on a 5 user network and are therefore user dependant and will vary depending  on the number of users. The more users you have utilising the program the more powerful your server machine will need to be.

Workshops

In the past we have held workshops throughout the country. The feedback we have received from those who have attended has  been phenomenal. Those who attended felt they have learnt a great deal and as a result now use the program more effectively.

We are going to continue to host these workshops and will be introducing a new range of topics. Some of these will include:

Conveyancing: This workshop is for new and old users and will cover all the important areas of the conveyancing module, as  well as the new Cancellations and Consents module.

Practice Management:This is for the more advanced users of the programme and includes ways in which to use LegalSuite  more effectively as a management tool. Please be aware that it is recommended that those who attend this workshop should  have already been using the programme and had the relevant Basic Desktop training.

Litigation:This new workshop that is aimed at current Legalsuite users as well as first time users and will focus on taking on a  matter, Bill of Costs, debtors accounts and more.

From time to time we will also be holding Basic Desktop and Accounting workshops as well as an Advanced Trust Accounting  workshop. For more information on the above workshops please contact Saron Vazladelis at our offices or  email her at saron@legalsuite.co.za

Calendars

By now most of you should have received your complimentary wall calendars. These calendars can come in very handy as  they contain relevant information pertaining to your area of expertise.

Should you have not received yours or would like more for the rest of your office, please contact Dale Button at our offices or  email her at dale@legalsuite.co.za and we will be more than happy to send some to you.

Agent's Workshop

Towards the end of last year, LegalSuite held a workshop for all our sales agents. During the two days, the Agents got a  chance to be trained on new features in the programme, to discuss any common problems and to brainstorm where the legal industry was headed and where LegalSuite could be improved.

It was a very fruitful workshop but, of course, it can never be all work and no play and so on the last evening all the staff joined the Agents for a braai and got a chance to  catch up in a more social environment and much fun was had by all.
