During her years as a paralegal and Candidate Attorney, Michele Holland, was frequently asked the meaning of various Latin legal terms.
She has compiled the following list of simple explanations of some of the most commonly used Latin legal terms which she hopes will be of assistance in explaining various terms as simply as possible.
Opening of a Township Register
The following is a practical guide on how to open a Township Register. The document provides details of which documents are drawn in particular circumstances, as well as which documents are forwarded to the Deeds Office in each circumstance.
Repeal of Stamp Duty Act
As published in Government Gazette No. 31781 dated 8 January 2009, the Stamp Duties Act has been repealed (effective 1 April 2009). A Court Order was subsequently granted on 26 June 2009
Revenue Stamps on Magistrate’s and High Court documents have been removed in V4.1784 (1823) or higher.
Similarly, reference to Revenue Stamps has been removed from all Conveyancing documents.
New LegalSuite Agent
We are proud to announce that we have appointed a new agent for the Mpumulanga Area. Dianne Jansen van Rensburg will be taking over the reins from Guido Rautenbach from Stonehenge Technologies at the end of August 2009. Dianne will be responsible for all new sales, installations and training in the area.
